Two male characters won one of the “Best Couple” awards in South Korea

Two male characters (actors Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki) in a drama won one of the “Best Couple” awards in one of the biggest drama award shows in South Korea. The writer did not intend for the male characters in the drama (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) to have a romantic interest, but many viewers interpreted differently and believed that they would make a cute couple. This shows progress for the gay community in South Korea as the people there still tend to be pretty conservative.

Postscript: Model Isabelle Caro dead at 28

Just a note about the French model Isabelle Caro that Alyssa & Kaitlyn mentioned in their presentation…she just died at the age of 28.

Isabelle Caro, a French model and actress who became the international face of anorexia when she allowed her ravaged body to be photographed nude for an Italian advertising campaign to raise awareness about the disease, died on Nov. 17. She was 28.

Her friends and family initially kept her death secret. Danièle Gouzard-Dubreuil-Prevot, Ms. Caro’s longtime acting instructor, informed The Associated Press on Wednesday that she died after returning to France from a job in Tokyo.

Though her anorexia was almost certainly a factor in her death, its exact role was not clear, and her weight at her death was not known. But Ms. Caro weighed only about 60 pounds when she posed, reclining and staring balefully over her right shoulder, for an advertising campaign for the Italian fashion label Nolita in 2007. She was 5 feet 4 inches tall and had battled anorexia since the age of 13.

muse activity

I went to the leadership conference that was held on campus. To go through this conference we had to attend three different meetings. I went with my sorority and i learned a lot of new things through this conference. My first meeting was about alcohol use in college. It was talking about the safety of how to drink in college and to know how much you are drinking. It was really informative and i learned a lot through it. The second meeting I went to was talking about what our families discuss at home. I t was very interesting to listen to what was talked about and what wasn’t talked about in peoples households. It makes you think about all the different ways people are influenced by their families and friends. The last seminar i went to was about greek life. it was about all the different sororities and all the different things that get you involved in the schools.

Muse Activity #2: Tao of Procrastination

On Nov. 29th, I went to the Muse Workshop called Tao of Procrastination. The workshop started with a video animation of a guy going through his day and procrastinating on his homework. I thought that the animation was pretty cool because it summarized my life, how I procrastinate in my everyday life.

We then went on to talk about the signs of procrastination, the things that we do to procrastinate. We came up with errands, internet, emailing, and talking to friends. We went over the things that prevent us from getting our work done, such as boredom, too much thinking, anxiety and the enviroment. Towards the end of the workshop, the instructor gave us some ways on how to get started. A few ways to start on our work are: using reminders, using a five minute plan, establishing a routine, and modifying the enviroment.

I thought that this workshop was alright. I thought that it could have been a bit more fun. The only exciting thing was watching the little clips of procrastinating at the beginning.
