Post-class notes, Monday afternoon

Posted in prof post on August 30th, 2010 by admin – 1 Comment

Hi folks,

Thanks for hanging in with me today.  Just to clarify:

  1. Please register on the blog asap so that you will get notes like this emailed to you directly.
  2. Bring quiz Scantron form 815-E on Wednesday.  This is the smaller quiz form I mentioned, that we will use regularly.
  3. Buy your reader at San Jose Copy, 124 E. Santa Clara Street (near corner of Fourth & Santa Clara).  From the MLK library, walk one block (to your right) to Santa Clara, and go around the corner to your left….Fourth Street Pizza is on the near corner, and San Jose Copy is a tiny shop down about four doors.
  4. Read the first two articles in the Reader for Wednesday. I handed out Study Guides which I will not collect from you – they are strictly for use to help you understand the reading, and what I expect you to get out of the reading.  This material will be on the quiz.
  5. Read your syllabus!  At least one or two quiz questions will be about the syllabus.

Welcome to Tech/Engr 98, Women & Technology.

This is the course blog that will serve as a guidepost for you throughout the semester.  I will post lecture notes, handouts, and study guides here, so I suggest you check it at least once or twice a week.  I also recommend that you register here so that you can write your own posts and comments more easily – registering will also subscribe you to the course email list.

We have a full schedule planned and I’m looking forward to meeting you all.

P.s. Diana noticed that not every lecture has a date on it.  In that case, just cite like this:  (Gallardo, “Women in Science” lecture, n.d.) and be sure to include the full title of the lecture.
